This notice explains what personal information Peak Sales collects when you use peaksales.uk or use our services, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We are the “data controller” for that information, which means we decide how and why it is used.

The information we collect
When you place an order
To fulfil an order we collect your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address, along with the details of what you ordered. We need this to accept your order, send it to you and deal with any return.
When you pay
You can pay with PayPal or by card. Payments are processed by PayPal and we do not see or store your full card details. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, together with the order reference.
When you create an account
If you create an account we store your name, email address, password (in encrypted form), your addresses and your order history, so that you can check past orders and check out more quickly.
When you contact us
If you use the contact form we collect what your enquiry is about, your name, your email address, your order number (if you give it) and your message. The form sends your message to us. If you phone or email us we keep that conversation so we can reply and refer back to it.
When you sign up for news
If you sign up for new baskets and market dates we collect your email address and use it only to send you those updates. You can ask us to stop at any time.
When you browse the site
With your consent, we use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-PER01BRM74) to understand how people find and use the site — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are, and what device they use. Our shop software, WooCommerce, can also record how you arrived at the site, for example from a search engine, an advert or another website, so that we can see which sources lead to orders. Both use cookies in your browser. These cookies are not set unless you accept analytics cookies, and you can change your mind at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Declining does not affect your ability to browse or order.
The fonts on our site are stored on our own website, so loading a page does not send your details to a font provider.
Our hosting and security systems also keep standard server logs, including IP addresses, which help us keep the site available and protect it from abuse. We keep a record of the cookie choice you make (a random ID, your choices and the date — not your IP address) for up to two years, so that we can show we asked for your consent.
Why we are allowed to use your information
UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are:
- To take steps at your request and to perform our contract with you — answering your enquiry, quoting, carrying out the work and taking payment.
- Our legitimate interests — keeping records of the work we have done, dealing with any warranty or guarantee, preventing spam and fraud, and keeping the website secure. We use this basis only where it does not override your own rights.
- Your consent — analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — keeping the accounting records that tax law requires us to keep.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do share it with the suppliers who help us run the business:
- PayPal — to take payment, whether you pay with PayPal or by card.
- Delivery companies — your name, delivery address and, where the courier needs it, a contact number so they can deliver your order.
- Google — analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies).
- Our website host and IT suppliers — who store the site and its data on our behalf.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Sending information outside the UK
Some of the suppliers above, including Google, may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by safeguards approved for use in the UK, such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or a data bridge (adequacy) decision.
How long we keep it
- Orders and invoices — six years after the end of the relevant tax year, because HMRC requires business records to be kept for that long.
- Account details — until you ask us to close the account.
- Newsletter sign-ups — until you ask us to stop.
- Enquiries and correspondence — kept while they are useful for answering you and dealing with your order, then deleted.
- Analytics data — retained by Google for the period set in our Google Analytics configuration.
- Cookie consent records — two years.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it;
- ask us to transfer it to you or another provider in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where consent is what we relied on.
To exercise any of these, email shop@peaksales.uk. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator:

Cookies
Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie this site uses. You can change your choices at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

If we change how we use personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Please check back from time to time.
